Letter from Charles Whittier to the faculty of Harvard University, [1860].

Two leaves containing a two-page handwritten letter from student Charles Albert Whittier (Harvard AB 1860) petitioning the Harvard Faculty to reconsider his suspension and readmit him to the College. Whittier requests leniency on the grounds that his father would refuse to allow his son to return to the school following a suspension. Whittier was suspended on July 15, 1859 for continual absences.
